ATLANTA (AP) -- Police are investigating the robbery and shooting of a Morehouse College student as he walked home from the campus library.
Atlanta police Sgt. J. Ludwig said the student was shot in the arm during the early Monday morning robbery about three blocks from the southwest Atlanta campus. The student, who was not identified, was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital in good condition.
Ludwig said the robber told the student to get on the ground and took his wallet, cell phone, iPod and laptop computer. The student tried to stop the robber and was shot in the elbow.
Morehouse sits next door to Spelman College and Clark Atlanta University, where a Spelman student was killed Sept. 3 by a stray bullet as she walked with friends.

Hey I agree, I attend Temple University in North Philly, and there are students getting robbed shot at and stabbed all the time it seems like. Someone was killed the beginning of this semester riding a bike home at night. I am graduating soon but I feel as though universities, especially those in urban areas need to spend more on security, not only on campus but in the surrounding areas as well.
