So every year in Baltimore we have the Afram, Artscape & Stone Soul Picnic{something like Hump Wednesday but the entire city instead iof 3 schools lol}. These are all events open to the public held outside where the entire city(mostly the urban population) come together & mingle, see entertainers, & enjoy a variety of foods. Ive been going for a long time & it has ALWAYS been a free event. The only thing you pay for is whatever the vendors sell (clothing, homemade jewelry, food etc). This year i received an invite via FB & the price said $5!!?? I read it about 30 times...Now i know ya'll are probably saying "Its only $5". The reason its such a big deal to us is because for the years its been around they never charge a cover fee! Like i explained to the people who put the page together, we arent upset because its $5, we're upset because it isnt free. He tried to say that we would pay certain amounts of money to attend other things & i responded that we have prior knowledge that a concert, night club or sporting event is going to start at $20 before they even announce the dates, knowing this we do not complain, but when for 7 years an event is free to Baltimores large population & you suddenly charge $5 ( and $40, $60, or $80 for the entertainment) it becomes an issue...
but anywho im done blabbing.
